Oh! My disparately associated life
For the past few months I have not made a lot of work. I feel pretty guilty about it, but I know that this little hiatus will yield good results. I have often found it to be true in my studio practice that I work very hard and very intensely for a long stretch. I make a lot of work and am very prolific. Then I enter another state where I do more reading, real world research and develop some "slow and deep" ideas.

On top of being in "research and development" mode I have also been working a lot on non art projects trying to get together some scratch for moving this summer. In August I will be moving from Seattle to Providence, RI to attend RISD's Digital + Media MFA program.

Thus to finance the move and apartment hunting, etc. I have taken a contract job at Smith-Harmon, an E-mail Direct Marketing company. It is not nearly as sketchy as it sounds. In fact it is not sketchy at all. It has proven to be more interesting than I thought it would be, I am learning a lot and having fun. These folks are working hard to salvage the reputation of email marketing. Rescuing it from its doom as "spam." All the emails they work on are Opt-In, i.e. unless you signed up for the mailing list at some point, you will not get it, thus not spam. It might be junk mail to some, but it is not spam. They have some pretty impressive clients and are really nice folks.

On top of that I am still working on the 1977 Mopeds website, doing a bunch of back-end and front-end changes, and I am holding down my job at the coffee shop. I have also been riding mopeds again, which means fixing mopeds again, which means getting dirty and always smelling a bit like gasoline.

Also, I just got linked off of http://vvork.com/. Thanks!
